I have stayed in many Hilton‘s over the years and on this occasion, it has to be one of my favourite Hilton hotels to date. For the simple reason of the canal location. Situated within walking distance to the embassy quarter and Peace Palace, and just steps from the Dutch Parliament. Is the Hilton, The Hague.

I spotted it very easy as this hotel is in a lovely setting right on the canal.

It is popular with locals who are looking to have a nice outdoor culinary experience.

Reception

It was a former post office and the overall interior design is fabulous. Lot’s of colour, natural lighting and space. The staff are very accommodating and friendly.

This hotel has lots of natural light due to the glass ceilings.

Executive Room

I was in room 529, with wonderful city views of The Hague and the canal. Thanks to terrace access I could oversee how Dutch people live. The shopping area is straight ahead with plenty of boutiques to experience. The Hague has fabulous small boutiques and restaurants to explore.

The weather was not in my favour, I still loved the view from a very large and comfortable chair inside the suite.  A fabulous way to wake up in the morning.

The bed and decor red being my favourite colour. They were super comfy and the pillows were large and very fluffy. Nice relaxed vibe in this room.

The dedicated working desk with a super comfortable leather retro chair is why I am working in the room with ease. The space is well thought out and the natural lighting is very welcoming. Plenty of coffee and tea to access whenever I needed it. With a view like this. It was lovely.

My Top Top

I would have a dedicated coffee machine, in the room due to the executive lounge being open only at 5 pm. The Hilton Rotterdam have Nespresso machines in the room.

Bathroom

Large space with plenty of light, towels and Crabtree and Evelyn amenities which I love. The towels are huge and fluffy. A dedicated rain shower with a separate bath was a welcoming treat for some downtime. The mood lighting overall was excellent.

Executive Lounge

Executive Lounge was included in my room and is it now located in the Spark bar, ground floor overlooking the canal. Opened at 5 pm there were plenty of bites and drinks to wine and dine. Special mention to the fabulous host Irene, she is brilliant and goes the extra mile for everyone, no matter how busy it gets. Your hotel is only as good as the people that serve you with a warm heart.

The breakfast buffet was excellent. There are two rooms serving Covid 19 for social distancing space. One in the Pearl restaurant.

The Pearl Restaurant Hilton The Hague

I loved sitting here and looking at the lady with The Pearl earing. The other breakfast room is opposite The pearl restaurant.

Beetroot Juice

I like to experience juices that I don’t have at home. And not common at all in hotels here in Europe is fresh beetroot juice.  Did you know beetroot juice helps you sleep? There are plenty of other juices to choose from. There are many healthy options too. Lot’s of nuts, fruits endless amounts of cereals, cakes and dedicated menus for eggs. Overlooking the canal was a real treat.

Conclusion

The setting at the Hilton, The Hague is what makes this hotel special. being able to sit on the terrace or even in rainy weather to look out onto the canal and watch how the locals live. is a lovely relaxing way to enjoy my stay. The Pearl bar is special too. Bringing art into a hotel room with cultural identity is clever.
